Shsir, also known as Wabar, is not just an archaeological site, but a page from the book of Omani history, where stories of frankincense and caravans that crossed deserts and eras are narrated. Since the Stone Age, Shsir has been inhabited and became an important commercial center, serving as the gathering point and starting point for the famous frankincense caravans that spread across the Arabian Peninsula. Today, excavation and research work continues, shedding light on more of its mysterious secrets, and evoking the image of the city of Iram, whose pillars have not been created like it in the lands.
